Pocket Fidget Rollers
TLDR: Strength and hardness similar to medium woods, also similar to wood in that it is not for most eating uses but handling it for soft play is generally safe for all but the youngest kids. Use parental judgement. Clean with soap and running water, air dry. Indoor use, ages 4+ only.
PLA is a "soft/hard" plastic that can handle "soft" play. It is non-toxic but is not food safe, nor is it edible. It is harder than skin and sharp edges can hurt if handled roughly. It is softer than many other household materials though and can probably be destroyed or marked by materials including many metals, ceramics, and composite tools.
Prints by ADHD Craft Cabin are designed as toys that are inappropriate for children 3 and younger. For young children, please as a parent evaluate each print individually to make sure it is safe for your children.
PLA strength is largely dependent on the cross-sectional strength of each individual print. Generally prints will be weakest and sharpest where there is the least amount of material, so be especially careful in handling prints that have fine details like wings, horns, tails, beaks.
For cleaning, wash with soap and running water, air dry with moving air if possible.
Materials are water safe for temporary use, bath/play etc., but should be dried after play/use. Not appropriate for extended contact with water or sun. Long term contact with moisture can cause small amounts of absorption within the small spaces in the plastic or within layers of a print. This can cause warping and color changes and can be a concern for bacteria buildup. Exposure to sunlight can start to affect the color and cause warping to PLA after a few hours of exposure.
Sharp edges can be removed with a pair of flush cutters, files, sandpaper etc. This can affect the look of the print so trim and sand carefully to preserve quality.
